Congratulations to final year student, Shalyn Wilkins, who has won a D&AD New Blood Award for her response to the BBC brief that challenged students to “bring Edinburgh Festivals to everyone, by using technology to capture the event for a wider audience”.

Be Here & There is a program designed for elderly people in care homes. It aims to give them an opportunity to experience the Edinburgh Fringe Festival whilst being in the comfort of their own home. This is done using VR technology. The program utilises young volunteers to assist the elderly. The platform works through a kit, sent round to the elderly person’s home. A date is arranged by a caregiver and volunteers arrive to help  set up the VR headset using the kit. They can use the experience to reminisce with ease.
