AMTYP
Catching up with final year student, Kuba Udenze – last seen running Blender Workshops and exhibiting at Tate Britain on his year out. This August he has been teaching for the Alice Made This Youth Program (AMTYP).
AMTYP invited me to run a workshop for under-18s as part of their youth program, with a focus on logo design and branding. I opened the session by sharing the story behind my own logo, the ND mask for my creative direction studio, Nwakuba Designs, and broke down its symbolism and connotations to spark ideas for their own concepts. From there, I asked participants to sketch out potential logo designs, which we photographed and converted into SVGs to bring into Blender. This gave them the opportunity to experiment with their logos in 3D space, adjusting form, colour, texture, and lighting. Each young creative produced something unique, a true reflection of their own identity, and left with a looping 3D animation they could continue to develop beyond the workshop.”
